I thought I would resurrect this old post as I'm thinking of buying a Dometic CDF 26 cool box-style fridge/freezer. I know that they are an old model now (which you can still buy new) but I'm limited to a certain gap size for one to fit in - newer models are bigger and won't fit. Does anybody have any experience of this particular model? Thanks Joe

Hi. What is a good length of hose to have for filling up your fresh water tank? I shall just be using normal garden hose rather then food grade. Thoughts on expandable hoses? Not bought my first narrowboat yet but just preparing things in advance. Any other tips on equipment for us newbies would be much appreciated. Cheers Joe

Thought I would reopen this post as I am about to buy a used narrowboat with a Nobles hydraulic bow thruster and trying to find out what the sensor is on the attached photo and if it can be replaced, needs a washer etc. as there is a slow weep of fluid coming from it. The above links are no longer of use.

The best mattress is the one that is comfortable for you. What is good for me may be bad for you. The Dreams advert is good as it says no two logs are the same!

I was told that BSS standards for stove flues have changed. If you have to replace a flue then it has to be double skinned.

Hello. Can anybody recommend a product to clean and preserve / nourish the oak wall panelling and cupboard doors inside of a narrowboat. Nothing is wrong at present - just want to give it a bit of love! Cheers Joe

I don't have a boat (yet) but how easy is it to get a 4' 6" mattress into a narrowboat? I know Emma / Eve etc. roll up but what about ordinary mattresses? Cheers Joe

What size is your fan? Is it the correct size for the stove seeing as there is not much room to put it on it. Don't ask me what size it should be though!
