  1. Like I said there was minimal flow and whilst they may not have been designed to they probably would with that amount of flow ( yes I’ve read about that story and seen the monument at the lock) You sure they’re called dolphins?
  2. Did it in the summer. Not much current and floating booms over weir entrance. If I had engine failure I’m not sure given those conditions this summer I’d deploy the anchor. I’d let boat come into contact with the boom. Also did tidal section with another boat. I did have the anchor ready to be deployed
  3. I’d have to be seriously in the shit to deploy my anchor and by that I mean knowing I was near a weir. If the current was that strong that the boat was quickly heading towards a weir I wouldn’t be on the river in the first place. If it’s tidal I’d travel with another boat for safety.
  4. Attached is a link for Toby regulator and maintenance. One thing worth doing is the tapping of the actuating pin to clear dirt. https://kumastorage.blob.core.windows.net/content/images/PDF Manuals/TOBY OIL CONTROL.pdf
  5. The one at Abingdon is now a cafe and the outboard centre is a house
  6. Is it supposed to build up a layer of diesel in the burner pot then and if it is how do you know if it is or not! You have got the ring and the mesh in correctly I assume. The ring site halfway up the pot on the small protruding lugs sticking out. The ring has the centre tangs pointing downwards slightly . The cylindrical mesh then sits in the centre of the ring and on the bottom of the pot. It’s this setup that helps vaporises the diesel. If this is not correct the stove will smoke and soot up as it’s not burning correctly From Reflex The mesh cone has the disc at the top. The ring sits halfway in the burner pot and has three tabs pointing down ie concave underneath.
  7. Well mines not been run since May I think it was and I lit it the other day without doing anything to it and it was fine. Also the air feed holes as you call them certainty should not be blocking. Mines as clean as a whistle except for some coke at the bottom which I scrape every year and hoover out. I think I’d call Refleks for advice and maybe see if they know anyone who will overhaul the regulator. Lots of coke deposits certainly indicate it’s not burning correctly.
  8. I put an inline filter in my Reflex and have not had an issue. Is yours fed from a separate tank and how clean is it? If the tanks clean and the diesels good once the regulators clean there shouldn’t be an issue.
  9. Am I supposed to be impressed?. My point was he thinks only his OPINION counts.
  10. Only @matty40sis allowed an opinion and he’s always right
  11. I’ve also assumed it’s where the yellow circle is due to the stone sides which certainly look like a lock. I seem to recall there’s some remains of a winding mechanism as well
  12. Well am I sorry because my contribution isn’t up to your expectations…..no not at all! (oh yeh you called me a tosser. Maybe look in the mirror) Pot kettle etc etc
  13. Yes because all volunteers are the same aren’t they?
  14. Oh and leave the pound they’ve probably emptied empty. Yeh great idea
  15. Are you for real. Have you ever been to Hillmorton locks? I guess as long as you’re happy slating people you carry on!
  16. This was posted on Twitter from one of the devil volunteers at Hillmorton Hecti day at Hillmorton with lock 2 out of action. Made worse by the 2 Welsh gents who, at locking up time, were stuck in lock 5. Went to check, they said the lock wo'nt fill. Youve guess, all 4 paddles up. Late home, dinner in the dog. Awful these volunteers aren’t they
  17. And so the volunteer bashing continues post after post page after page. Quite unbelievable 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. I’ve got MCS on both fuel and water and they have been fine and appear to be as accurate as is needed
  19. Of course you’ve reported all this and any incident to CRT……what you haven’t?

  21. It’s standard behaviour for the “old school” on here. Seem to think they can reply to people as they like. I bet they wouldn’t do it to peoples faces!
  22. North Kilworth marina (not much further than Debdale
  23. I suspect this is another Brexit bonus. If you purchase one from Europe you’ll probably have to pay massive postage and import costs 🤦🏻‍♂️
  24. Don’t worry about it. It’s standard behaviour for many. I’m sure they wouldn’t respond like that face to face Is the bow thruster still working? I had a beeping sound from my bow thruster control and it had stopped working. Turned out to be a loose wire
