I'm afraid that I am not replying to your question but am thinking of moving my boat to the Lee as we are moving south later in the year. Where are there good and safe moorings on the Lee and associated areas. I am happy with on line or marina. Mark

Hello. I am off next week round the BCN (yes I love it!) and after that had planned to go down the Severn, up the Avon and back home in Rugby. The plan was that my wide would join me for the second week on the rivers. Now she can't come til the monday of the last week. What are people's views on going down on the rivers single handed? I've done the Trent between Trent Lock and Nottingham without problems. Any comments? Mark

My crazy lurcher, Murphy, does that all the time. Most notably as we approached the end of Netherton Tunnel and in a lock on the Northampton Arm. Both we pretty close calls and dogs, so far as I know, only have one life!

I'll be there in a couple of weeks... Been several times before if only to show that it is possible! Anybody want to meet me there?

I see that they are locking Marston Doles and Claydon after 4pm as well. Strange because when I was there last weekend the water was pouring over the bye washes....

What's wrong with tow path moorings, we have had one for 7 years and never had a spot of bother....

I think this is a current hot spot for problems. I was moored overnight just between the tunnel and Kings Norton Junction and had my ropes cut. Now i don't mind being untied too much but rope cutting makes me really cross!

I had a great day on the W and E. It was more thatn that actually. Set off from Walsall town wharf ay 9 and got back to Walsall top lock at 7. A beautiful day and a great cruise. Vive la BCN Mark

Hello Just come from Old Turn to Walsall Town wharf Never seen so much weed anywhere else, its s real shame because most of the canal is lovely. If BW and Walsall council are serious about getting boats here it will have to be improved. Then I walked the dog up the locks. Are they the prettiest urban locks around? What's your vote?
