ok peeps just got out of papworth after having three stents fitted and could do with a hand to get my wooden fen cruiser in a usable condition
,is there anyone on the great ouse huntingdone area that could give a hand am willing to pay.
thanks macc
my 25 ft river cruiser is made out of iroko on oak last owner was not so kind to her and used sadolin,it took me ages to get her back to bare wood and varnished however there was to much moisture in the wood so i painted on top of the varnish with crown solo paint it held good for years.
got mine from this seller of ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Solar-mppt-charge-controller-50A-3400W-12-48V-w-logger-/130545635271?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item1e65204fc7 allthough from across the big pond itam came safley within 14 days, also got the shunt from him for £30.
i did see 14.4v sometimes from the ivt but it would never get my batts to 100% soc so i replaice it with a invertek ss-50c http://www.richelectric.com.au/files/sunstar_mppt_series_manual_v10809.pdf batts are at 100$ soc by 14:00hrs with fridgefreezer running.
trad boats in beccles http://www.tradboats.com/ does some good stuff, cart is you boat still on the river great ouse i have a verry simlar boat to you she was built by a master carpinter in 1964 at burwell.

ok here goes i`ve got 3 x 12v 80w panels 1x 30a ivt mppt controler am i going to install them in the best way.
conect 3 x 12v 80w in series to give 36v,mppt can handle 5v to dov input cable size 4mm2 at 5m length 10m to controler and back cable from controler to batts 16mm2 6m length from controler and back,do i have to put fuse in between controler and batts if so what fuse would i req.
thanks jim macc
thanks for the reply roger checked new panels and found that they were only 80w contacted thousand suns and they are going to send me another 80w for free
so has worked out in my favour.so i suppose it will be best to connect them to put out 36v into controler
orderd 2x100w panels from thousand suns yesterday and they came today so ill be busy for the next couple of days ,i bought the ivt 30a mppt and sd card logger remote for £152
so waiting for them, just got to determine wether to go 12v or 24v from panels.
