  1. We do, regularly. Not for use on the boat obviously; the energy density is too low. People who extol the virtues of hydrogen often ignore the energy density...
  2. It's illegal to sell wood with more than 20% moisture content unless selling 2m^3 or more IIRC.
  3. My parents bought a 5 bed terrace in the same year for £2400. The deposit of £500 was an inheritance on the death of my grandfather.
  4. Upper dentures (I sneezed), glasses (the optical kind) spectacles, a mooring pin, a chimney, a towel (blew off the roof), a rubber doormat. None of these were recovered. The dog's (now deceased) been in several times, he just swam to the bank and waited for someone to grab his collar. Previous dog used to leap into the Ouse at York when we lived there but never managed to fall in off a boat.

  16. So, what you're saying is that composting needs to be an industrial managed process - chuck it in a bin and forget about it doesn't work. Personally I don't spend sufficient time on-board to make the change from the existing system and since I have absolutely no interest in gardening whatsoever it's no great loss to me. Good to read your report but is there usually an 'h' in coir?

  18. does that mean that when the eventual shutdown of FM happens we will all be half a second out or that the powers that be will adjust the pips to take account of the processing and propagation delays? In the days before analogue TV went off air the time delay was quite noticeable.
  19. In desperate need it's worth seeking out a B&M or Home Bargains. They only have 10kg bags but the prices are a bit more reasonable (£5.79 for Blaze in October).
  20. So glad it's not just ours... he loves children of all sizes and will tolerate any amount of abuse from them but if another dog comes within sight he's twitchy and nervous. Much better than he used to be when we first got him three years ago but for safety he always wears a muzzle when he's out and there's only one field, where I can see hundreds of metres in all directions, where I dare let him off the lead apart from securely fenced dog exercise fields.
