  2. I don't have any previous surveys, and our survey just says: "An 18” Turbine type propeller is fitted, which appears to be in a serviceable condition where visible with some light damage to the blades" this 'light damage' is just scratches as we chatted to the surveyor...
  3. Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure with Water Lily - is there a relatively easy way to find out? I know its 18" but dont know the pitch. The only photos i have are when she came out for blacking but they are not very good:
  4. ok, going to sound stupid here, whats fishtail?
  5. Interesting as we have an 18" prop but the stopping on Water Lily is pretty dire compared to our shareboat......
  6. We always hire a canoe when going on the broads these days - great to get away from the busy lanes into the many shallow areas full of wildlife..
  7. The hire company maybe don't emphasise the need for caution, or they shouldn't be permitted to go that route if a risk of this is apparent?

  14. Going against the flow I prefer the Semi .... outdoor space with seats that are protected from wind, lots of under seat storage. Easy to work on engine plus we have a semi cover so can work on engine in dry....
  15. Engines on shareboats will have had a good life I suspect (hope!).... lots of hours up to temp plus no missed services......

  18. That looks really scary... ok assuming the engine isnt working, what should they have done? I thought the throwing a rope to the chap on the bank whilst the boat was going at a rate was fairly pointless - the inertia would have snapped it surely??
  19. I keep to normal speed and give them a wide berth if possible.... never had any bad comments yet...
  20. What a farce this is becoming. Lockdown restrictions are an emergency reaction, not a long term solution...
  21. It's interesting how Covid-19 behaves differently in Wales and England - who knew it was so hot on Geography?
  22. We're 58 ft, but no worries moving it back to front etc... i'm mainly looking to do bow / stern and roof..
  23. My guilty pleasure is Cruising Alba ... very bohemian! Very few will be making any money and those that do will be struggling to come up with new topics - there's only so many times you can film the same bit of canal, except maybe in different seasons? I predict an increase in click bait headlines followed by very so so videos unless they come up with a fresh angle on it - not sure what that could be - what would people find interesting and viewable? I'd personally like more engineering videos and trips into the engine bay generally, but I know I'm a bit odd like that.... its my favourite room on our boat!
