  1. I recently bought one of these http://www.wifionboard.co.uk/product/magnetic-mount-high-gain-antenna-6db/had to get a new wifi unit as the EE Osprey Mini doesn't have an aerial mount so got the Huawei unit they sell. Signal is better than before but not as good as I thought it would be but the EE signal here isn't good. Having the Huawei inside means I get decent wifi throughout my boat and the battery lasts for ages (though it's now wall mounted near a socket so that doesn't really matter to me).
  2. I just replaced my dying iPhone 5 with a 6 and the signal is way better. There are lots more aerial bands in the back of the phone
  3. Ok, so I emailed the website and they replied already. It's the address of the house of the company, which is good
  4. Just wondering how my address or anyone who uses this service would look? I use a friends at the mo which is miles away so I only get my post every few months, which isn't ideal although it's free.
  5. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/elegantboatsofabeds4u?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 Highly recommended, perfect depth for a narrowboat and tons of storage. Click-clack is the way to go
  6. I use 20-30kg a week in a Morso using it 24/7 with Brazier from Wickes.
  7. Thank you, phoned them and all ok to do, £25 a litre for Masons. They're now called Symphony Coatings, though website still says Rapid Paint.
  8. Couldn't agree more! I meet people through work all of the time and I'm often asked where I live. When I say I live on my boat, people are intrigued and chatty about it. Surprising how many people say how they'd like to do just that. I've never encountered any prejudice and if I ever do, that ain't my problem baby! Be yourself & be happy with who you are and how you live. Good luck!
  9. Have had a search for info on here and elsewhere as I need a Masons paint colour. I know the type/number/blah I need but looks like they're very out of business. Anyone know a good place to go to get some mixed up? Thank you Again!
  10. Paint + Paint shed hire + Painter to do prep, undercoat & gloss/lettering = £500ish for me
  11. I've been speaking with Darren Williams http://www.dwcanalboatsignwriter.co.uk/index.htmlwho has lots of work on his site
  12. Have pm'd you Dogless. Totally ok to chip in with other thoughts and stuff, that's where the best idea come from Thank you for your suggestions everyone :)
  13. Butternut Squash is underrated
  14. I'm having a bit of painting & artwork re-done on my boat and think I've found someone I'm happy with but thought I'd ask if anyone here has any recommendations? Braunston/Napton/Stockton area. I have found a paint shed that I can hire so that bit is sorted. Thank you

  16. Just went for the 50GB plan, too good a price not to. May go crazy later and stream a video off YouTube just because I can
  17. Marina wifi can be fairly useless, especially once you're in your boat (and not standing outside, which isn't best practical) so budget for mobile wifi - lots of threads on that around.
  18. I already have an Osprey 2 on PAYG for £20 which gives 15GB a month which is usually ok though I'm careful with what data I use and usually end the month with data to spare. The signal is stronger than the Kite from EE which is what I used to use. I get decent 4G with it on the roof inside the well deck. Connecting to the signal inside is strong enough to use at the other end of my boat with an iPad. iPhone not quite so good. Battery claim of 6hrs seems accurate. You can connect 6 devices. I use a 3 meter micro-USB poked through the top of the door to charge if it needs it when using. Over!
  19. £27.50pm for 50GB on 24 month contract http://shop.ee.co.uk/dongles/pay-monthly-mobile-broadband/osprey-2-from-ee/details
  20. I am a slow, careful & very occasional rider of a bicycle... and a bit crap at it too, hence the falling in bit.
  21. Fell in before I owned a boat - lost balance on my bike along the K&A
  22. I will start asking people how their houses are
  23. It costs what it costs. I live on a boat because that's what I wished to do. That is all!
  24. I have been looking for somewhere that sells replacement round things with the two spikey bits (technical term) for LED lights, now found at Bedazzled because of this thread so thank you
