    Red face

I recently did a full on Jacques Coustou, head first, straight into the silt. I was only filling a watering can!

  6. A long run of stainless pipe is even more prone to cracking, especially if no flexible 'joints' are incorporated in the run. Most injector pipes are soft mild steel, other than short sections close to the head on more modern diesels.

  12. Generally speaking, anywhere north of Packet boat lane is reasonable.
  13. Most criminal 'gangs' are invested in Internet related scams, fraud and so on nowadays - the dark Web being widely used for drug deals that would have been in person years ago.
  14. Without wanting to take anything away from a valid point, the same could be said about the supply of clothing and other wearable items, particularly at the cheaper end of the market.
  15. It may affect people differently or they may already be predisposed to the particular mental health issues. I certainly believe that strong cannabis can have an adverse effect on young minds if smoked constantly, but with adults it's less clear and definitely comparable with the abuse of any psychoactive substance, legal or otherwise.
  16. One major positive of legalisation would be some control/listing of potency. Throughout the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the strength of cannabis sold was fairly similar across the board. Even skunk type weed was not generally as potent as it is today, in a market driven by young consumers who demand the strongest, smelliest product, the breeders of the seeds have aimed to please this dynamic. I would imagine that a legal, controlled market would be taxed on strength in the manner of alcohol - with a majority of users opting for 'beer' strength, rather than 'whisky', but unfortunately any smokers are stuck with what the market is offering.
  17. I'd definitely recommend getting some a little longer than the standard length, you can't beat them on softer ground.

  20. The engine bed and supporting steelwork would have been cut out of Hawkesbury, had I not heard a conversation about doing so. Same dock too.
  21. Not necessarily, but would depend on what the engineer doing the job thought on looking at the condition of what's left.
  22. I've seen a similar arrangement to that in the picture and it suffered from the same symptoms. It was mounted on a splined taper which had worn, allowing movement without actually slipping off the splines.

  24. If you can access the body of the alternator, it should be red hot when, or just after running.
  25. Hawkesbury is definitely a G.U. boat and retains a lot of its originality too, timber cabin, original engine room (far too dented for the posh mob!), and front deck. The Yarwoods origin of the steering bush?, just adds to the story - to be honest, the lettering looked like rusty bumps under the umpteen layers of paint, so was glad I attacked it with a cup brush, rather than a disc!
