Why ever time we go is there a boat moored on the water point , if its not a day boat its a hire boat , last weekend day boat moored on it guy trying to stop for water ,spoke to him and went to pub found hire peeps having lunch asked them to move got told I could bloody wait until they have finished . 5. That looks like a AC power cut out cabinet to isolate equipment , not sure why it would be on a canal bank though
  6. Hi we are planning a month /30 day trip round the 4 counties from our Braunston base , I have heard Audlum marina is very good for a stop does anyone have experience of Nantwich or any other marinas We intend to stop at least three marinas on the trip , hook up. launderette , shop, fuel , ploppy's and if possible a 5* hotel spa overnight .
  7. soak in coke polish with good old fashioned BRASSO
  8. In reply to B0atman yes it was at speed it was the engine noise that alerted us to the boat coming through if he had passed on tickover we probably would not have known as it was we had the wash batter us and the boat next door asked us if we had noticed the boat and how late is was. Interesting comments to this , if cruising at nights your thing great and its not illegal .party on , just don't wake me up doing it ! hope you enjoy the pun !!
  9. moored at Crick one night last week a boat came through at 10-45pm full speed , whats the score here are they "allowed " to cruse at night and why would you want to ??

  11. On a week long trip last week small red light started flashing on the fridge ,is this the sign the battery's are needing replacing or is there something I should be checking 1st

  15. Cheers Guys ,plenty of opinions and thoughts the PRV blows when the boat has been running , water is hot , tweaking/turning the valve makes no difference it still pumps water out Pumps about a year old and I am told is the correct one for the PRV
  16. Just done the Ashby , great enjoyable canal. watch the moorings though and don't miss one ! . it can be hard to get moored at the "pub" sites , take plenty food & drink and enjoy it

  18. The PRV on the clorifier water tank intermittently blows/pumps water out, had it changed twice in the last 8 months . Is there/are there obvious reasons the water system pressurises ? and this blows

  22. reverse layout cruiser stern works for us , love the space at the back for eating out and its close to the kitchen , front does tend to only be used for storage though and can get cluttered ! nice and easy to get on and off is another cruiser layout plus point more elsan than pump out points and they are generally free , does have to be humped thier though !
