  1. If the owner of this marina(??) is tampering or witholding mail, then he is committing an Offence under one of the Mail Acts (can't remember which) so perhaps he needs reporting to them as well.
  2. And trespass on Railway Land is a criminal charge under the Railways Act.

  4. I'm sure I don't remember any canal digs with the PFCS being sober!!
  5. A lot depends on the Division and their training. My old Division in Worcester were very professional and had been trained by the County Ambulance in many things and regularly supported them, even to the extent of being on-call at times, plus they had extra training in vehicle extraction and such like. However the Division here are much more basic, and don't even support the local First Responders, whereas in Rhayader and Caersws they are the Responders. In Rhayader they even do "blue light" to RTC's.
  6. David, I'm an ex-member, 2 of my children were Cadets, and my wife is the Badger Leader in our town, so perhaps slightly biased towards them, but they are also a very good example of the good many of the youth of today do. Also those links just happened to be about Nottingham and were found by chance.
  7. So every youth in Nottingham is a vandal and a trouble maker? Sorry, but I suggest you need to think a bit more about what you read and write. These might help: http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/counties/nottinghamshire.aspx http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/aid-cadet-s-day-palace/story-12170888-detail/story.html http://www.pgl.co.uk/PGLWeb/about-us/news-and-media/Cadet-of-the-year.htm http://parents.info/nottinghamshire/service?q=search&snac=0037&kw=%&id=5764 http://www.newarkadvertiser.co.uk:6969/articles/news/Honoured-to-win-county-cadet-title http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/Giorgina-named-St-John-cadet-year/story-12208369-detail/story.html
  8. Then I suggest that you take your blinkers off and get involved with some of the youth of today, who do lots of good. Have you ever thought of helping with St John Cadets or the Scouts? Perhaps if you did you would realise how biased and untrue most of the reporting about the youth is! And how stupid your comments are!
  9. Firstly who said this is young people involved? Secondly, there is nothing wrong with the young today. What is at fault is the press reportage that invariably picks on a very small percentage that do wrong and taints them all the same. Why don't we see more publicity for the good young people's group's do, such as the St John Cadets, or the Scouts and Guides? I suggest Jerry that you stop believing everything that is published by the press and look at the good that is done, not the bad.

  11. I did our shower at home out with these panels and they have been totally waterproof. Very easy to fix and slightly flexible. They are waterproof because they join with a tongue and groove, which if you want you can put a thin bead of silicone in, but in general iasn't needed. I've still got 3 or 4 3m lengths available.

  13. Curled up comfortably in a corner would describe the normal behaviour of our cat.
  14. Does Lyons Boatyard on the North Stratford still have a crane?
  15. I seem to remember talking to the owner of a nice looking tug moored near Kinver (??) that was painted with T & S Elements colours, who said he had had to ask there permission to use their name and colours, as they were still trading in the haulage business (just not on the canals). Sure I've got a photo somewhere.

  18. Coo. You learn something new every day! Method will be changed next time we are out.
  19. I haven't a clue why, just know they do. We have a magnetic phone holder on the dash of the car and both of our mobiles will stick to it when the battery area is over it.
  20. First paragraph, fourth sentence: "the 2nd day hirers (with 7 crew)"
  21. If the battery is uppermost then a magnet will stick to it.
  22. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=40362 A more balanced view!!
  23. Oh look, we've reached the knock the hirer's season again!
