  4. My fingers move faster than my brain
  5. Ahh i see... A good website if you want a read, how to get payback on the scammers from Africa! www.149eater.com
  6. I dont get the scam? Its not like they can post the boat, or you would pay without seing it!?
  7. Sorry the latest version is of Andriod is actually Jelly Bean, 4.3
  8. Found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCwlmMCLdIQ
  9. Linky no worky! Sorry, Yes windowscreen... LIke this one, it doesnt look like it folds down, easily anyway... http://motorboats.apolloduck.co.uk/image.phtml?id=309935ℑ=1
  10. A thought popped up in my mind whilst browsing some boats, some of them seem quite high, even if you have the pram cover down you get the cabin window sticking up still. Does this affect your cruising with regards to certain bridges on the network, what is the lowest bridge on the network? Cheers
  11. Hope this topic ends with the OPs dad getting back onboard Conway! Seems a shame for it to go dead.....
  12. Ipads are great i find, however you pay for this! You can pick up tablets off all sizes from the web from £40.. I bought a £40 and to be honest it sucks, however if you dont want to spend much money then you can grab a simple one to watch streaming software. things to watch out for... 1. Battery, a lot of the cheaper ones only last 2-3 hours when playing videos. 2. OS, Andriod is best, go for ice cream sandwhich 4.0 to 4.2 i think. Stay away from the ones offering 2.2, a lot of apps wont work and you will have to find a work around for flash which you will need for iplayer. 3. Screen resolution, The more the better obviously! 4. HDMI output, you can then plug it into your flatscreen. 5. Beware the ebay cheapos, ideally go into a store and play with one. The one i bought does not like being on charge and using the screen, it goes nuts!
  13. Your not wrong there, i live very close to the canal and it offers nothing for the network, there was talk some years ago about turning one of the old quarrys into a basin, but then they built houses on it! It needs something to make people want to visit the area, such a waste!
  14. Some top tips here everyone, thanks! The leaking part does not concern me to much, as long as its only the top half!! The pram cover tip make sense as does the engine, a nice 4 stroke easy to maintain and get parts for.... Now to get Xmas out the way, then its time to look about!
  15. Was referring to the lack of 4G signal out in the sticks... '4G isn't just about fast phones. Matthew Howett, principal analyst at Ovum, points out that 4G is welcome news for "residents of rural and remote Britain, many of whom lack even the most basic broadband services. For the final third of the UK that will not be passed with fibre broadband, mobile remains the most likely solution." 4G signals travel further than 3G, so they bring the Internet to parts of the country other data signals can't reach, making 4G a credible alternative to piping the Web in the old-fashioned way. This to me says it will reach the spots that 3G could not, meaning countryside! Ok, it will need the aerial things upgraded all lover the uk, but in time it should cover most of the uk... Unless im reading it wrong?
  16. Just wondering if any there are any GRP experts/owners on the forum? Thinking about picking one up early next year to have a play on whilst we save for the narrowboat... Have seen a few around and do not really want to spend over £2k, its only ever going to weekend/long weekend use so something around 20 - 25ft. Any tips when looking? Cheers DP
  17. I would test all pipework before you box it all in, its all been moved and knocked about so could be some dodgy connections. Just saying!
  18. No questions, we were just curious to see how much it went for. If we had the finances i would have considered a bid.
  19. Big brother watching again... That one plan looks a good deal actually!
  20. This one? http://www.canalplanner.com/ Says he will continue to run the activation sever, guess it has gone down for some reason. I would give it a few days and hopefully he will sort it!
