  1. Thanks for the link. I'll have a read later. It was my understanding that the original builder remains liable although I don't know in say, 2032 how they'd work out which owner had discussed be what.
  2. They'll have to catch me first 😉 I did also wonder who's jurisdiction it'd come under now.
  3. Any changes to RCD/R post "B****t" Particularly is selling a self fit out non RCD certified boat within 5 years in anyway doable? There must be loads that have done so in a particular south eastern region.
  4. Standard propane cylinder. We have 2x 13kg for cooking and 1x 13kg for geni
  5. The larger " regulator" needs to be vertical using the included black plastic clip mechanism. You'll also need access to the priming hole for every start so I drilled a small hole in mine. The choke setting isn't best aligned and needs to be closer to, just before the 9 o'clock position. Don't forget it's a maximum of 1440w on LPG
  6. WOW! an actual answer to the OP's question. I use the same geni and its just run out at 23 hours, that's running it at about 1000w via a multiplus or 75%
  7. Would another way to solve this be to have the handwash basin drain to a point before the gulper, ie. between the shower drain hole and "Y" into the gulper (ideally with an auto level sense switch (the yellow gulper??)) I'm in the same, hardy har, boat. I want to swap the loo and HWB over so I can use the old HWB fitting to vent a compost (pre composting waterless dollection device) bog. Orrr for my situation can I "Y" into the gravity outlet of the HWB with the air vent from the previously stated personal waste collection device?
  8. we're having that on a new build, how have you found it? Been on for long?
  9. I applied mine to the letter as well but it didn't survive a diesel slick. Re Zinger, is that the standard paint type or the vaporized metal version like Debdale do?
  10. We're a bit over that. It'll be the 3kw inverter as the 2kw one is right on the limit for washing machine. And the domestic alt is (will be when the engine arrives) a 175a
  11. Sounds an interesting build. My one is going the opposite way. After 7 years CCing with 400w solar, new build will be LiFePO4 charged with a fairly trad engine and no solar at all. Probably mostly Victron kit. I hope to pop over to Onboard Energy next week to quiz them further as most of my email questions like; how to turn off alternator to avoid too long a charge at acceptable voltage level, have met the "The victron BMS takes care of all that". All well and good but when the whole system will cost nearly as much as a FP genset I'd like a bit more detail.
  12. Presumably that don't 'overcharge' is really don't 'go over voltage' ie less than 3.6v per cell
  13. In CC land, how much of an issue is charging to 100% soc? Batteries are 100% two hours into a 6 hour cruise, as soon as I tie up and turn the engine off (subject to no other charging sources ie. solar) I'm using power and will soon be at 95% or lower as long as the bank capacity is sized to my power requirements. Yes when and if I leave the boat, say for a couple of weeks in a marina, I need to scrub 20% off fully charged batteries before everything is isolated and I leave the boat.
  14. got a feeling the 28 degrees on the Axiom is closer to 16". Beta reckon a 18"x14" should work, which looking back on the 1999 paperwork is what the boat was built with.
  15. The all electric boat was a pain in the butt as we never had enough power storage for using after 8pm (kettle boiling mainly). We fitted gas a while back and subsequently the prop gen died for a second time, first was £1800 repair. The only thing we really wanted the 7kva gen to do was run the washing machine, but the bosch didn't like it. More recently the electronics on the trolling valve were hit and miss resulting in losing drive on the Thames and having to pole it through some of Oxford. The suspected part was a duff PCB in the B12 connector and sadly beta haven't got any and PRM who supplied them 17 years ago had no record of it so it seemed sensible to bin the lot and go back to standard BV2203.
  16. Who did you go with and who else was on your shortlist?
  17. Yup, think that's the only course of action. Maybe flog the Axiom to a WB/DB owner
  18. Recently ditched mini prop gen (BV2203 MPG) and it's trolling valve with infinity variable prop speed. Now feeling axiom prop (C 2009) is not best suited. Called axiom to see what their numbers equate to (as I found the original invoice) and was told the Axiom 18x28 is equivalent to standard 18x14". Read a couple of older posts here that seem to think the 14" is closer to 20°. Either way the BV is giving a fair amount of black smoke at about 1600 (internally governed to 1800) and I've had to drop tick over to close to 700/750 to slow the buggah down past moored boats. Any advice welcome. Oh PS 60ft Alexander hull, BV is 50hp, PRM 500 D2 (think that's a 2:1)
  19. Evening all, Do you think that maybe CaRT don't really want to rent moorings out? They seem to be pricing themselves out of the competition (against marinas) and reading their winter mooring website have completely changed how they manage winter moorings, this year its a fixed price for all outside London and you just find a space, BUT they will be outside visitor mooring spaces. We were loosely planning to get a few months paid for in Birmingham but that doesn't look doable now. Our only options are to CC or take a space in a marina - hmm is that their plan? Are they under pressure from marina operators? From their winter mooring site - "Marinas and commercial moorings operators are an obvious place to start for continuous cruisers wanting to stay put during winter" Now if I was running a business I don't think my opening paragraph would be 'look at my competitors first!'
