One summers evening I was happy sitting on the front of the boat fishing. At about 9.30 decided to call it a day. As I got up I heard a splash and realised the rod was in the water, just my luck I believed I had knocked it and started cursing, then all I could see was my rod going up the canal. So I started running up the towpath trying to keep up. At this point my other half came out and saw me running and decided to follow. About 100 yards up the canal my rod was just there in the middle of the canal. Too far out reach by hand, So I ended up passing the other half my phone and wallet while I decided I would go and get the rod, It Won't be that deep. Hmm. The water was cold and the drop of the shelf was steep. I am 6.2 it was up to my chest. Got hold of the rod and the fish was still on, so started to bring it, got it within 10 feet of means then it snapped the line. My other half was pi##ing herself on the bank, luckily for me she couldn't use the camera on the phone. Took me 5 attempts to get out, and then broke the rod doing so!
