  1. Hi. Haven't read all this thread yet but what proof will C&RT accept that I'm obeying the rules? K.
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  3. Hi. As the title. It's very boring when going past a long line of moorede boats. K.
  4. Thanks Rob very helpfull. I would award you a greenie but don't know how to. K.
  5. Don't know about nursing the fridge, as the boat in winter is so warm that it probably works just as hard then as in the summer. I think I'll bite the bullet and get new batteries now....well in the next week or two. Next decision is, three or four batteries. If I get three...quicker to run down but quicker to charge back to 100%. Or get four....slower to run down but will take longer to re-charge. Problems, problems.......I hate boats.
  6. This morning my Smartgauge was reading 80%. A nice sunny day so I let the solar panels do the charging. So to get to 100% I needed another 20% right? When the SG was reading 100%, I checked the solar controller and saw that it had only put in 18ah. So, if 18 is 20% does that mean that my batteries are now only holding 90ah? K.
  7. Hi Neil. Yes I did think about traction batteries but don't think I could do a good charging regime. I only have the alternator and 200 watt of solar. K.
  8. Thanks for that Tony. It's a Johnson pump. Says cut in pressure 19psi. Doesn't state cut out. I'll try 19 psi then. K.
  9. Hi. Accumulator. Should the pressure be set, above or below the pump psi? Thanks. K.
  10. No. I'm off grid. K. Thanks for that. Thing about what you've said, I might change them sooner rather than later. In the summer I used to be able to go a couple of days without re-charging but I couldn't last summer. K Hi Dave. They're Alphaline. They were guaranteed for three years but that is reduced to one year for liveaboards. DoD is often down to around 40%-55%, a few times down to 30% and once when I had an alternator problem all the way down to 3%. K.
  11. Thanks by'eck. It used to take ages to get the SmartGauge to 100% but lately it's been getting there quicker. So probably no longer 440ah, more likely 200ah? The batteries have been charged and discharged every single day for four years. K.
  12. Hi. Are my batteries on the way out? 4x110ah SEALED batteries….4 years old. Smartgauge reads 100%. 2.5 hours of 22 inch tv, fridge and led light, Sg reads 83%. When recharging, if Sg reads 54% it only takes about 3 hours to get to 100%. 100 amp alternator puts out 70ish amps for about 15 minutes and gradually drops down to around 4 or 5 amps over the three hours. K.
  13. Hello all. Can someone recommend a decent split charge relay please? I have 100 amp alternator. Have just gone through the second Durite 120 amp relay, in two years. Thanks. K.
  14. Just started the engine. Smartgauge shows that the voltage to the domestics and starter battery has gone up to 14+volts. K. ETA. Oops. Just seen Nicknormans post and stopped the engine.
  15. All 12 volt. One alternator. Split charge relay. Batteries coming up for replacement so thinking of adding another. K.
