  1. I couldn’t work that out either. But wanted to give a greenie for his lad who escaped to a better life. I usually find that those who hold a grievance about education and teachers were usually little shits at school. A bit like criminals moaning about coppers.
  2. I wonder who taught him spelling? And grammar?
  3. Is it ok to remove a worn shaft and simply reinsert the other way around so the groove is elsewhere?
  4. Crisps, nuts and scratchings don’t go in fridge anyway. 👍
  5. You need to cram between 25 to 30 cans of lager in the fridge. Get them proper proper cold and they’ll stay well cold with the fridge off for 12 hrs easy peasy. You must empty the fridge of food stuffs for maximum room. 👍
  6. I’ve started 2 BCN challenges from there. On both mornings of the challenge we reversed down the first lock, and waited for the 8am start. Vulpes was there with me one year. Room for two boats in there. There were some youths close by fishing into the night and keeping a small fire going. They were interested in the boats and had a chat with us. And were very considerate with the noise they made later at night. 👍
  7. You in Tod yet? Go to the indoor market and use the butcher at the back on the right. Ask for lambs liver and they’ll cut you a lovely fresh big juicy slice 🤤. They’ll slice bacon for you too. And the sausages are good. buying from the coop when you’ve good butchers 🤷‍♀️
  8. If the sandstone has any heritage value then CRT might not be able to drill or cut into it? 🤷‍♀️
  9. Yes “The vehicles were found in Tipton, Dudley and Solihull and needed cranes and lifting equipment to clear, the Canal & River Trust said.” so we need to find the Solihull car 🧐
  10. I think we ‘ll find no2 and no3 are the same car. The Tenth Lock pub is the rubbish pub we’ve mentioned.
  11. Rubbish pub 👍 But if’d you’d have walked up the hill you’d have found a very good locals pub, the Vine/Bull & Bladder.
  12. Well, it’ll never happen will it. However...it could be a good little earner. This must be happening in odd spots all over the system. Anyway this £10,000 figures has increased from the last report. And where was the third car dumped? The image shown is the second car, the first was at factory locks. (perhaps I should read the article 😳before I say owt else)
  13. Nothing funny about that bit of canal, it’s the bottom of Delph locks. A decent place to moor over night. Black Delph Bridge, I think it’s called. Are CRT missing a trick? Why not do it themselves and charge the insurance company ?
  14. 12/240v just another option, 12v when on tour and 240V straight to fridge when on hook up, simple 😃
  15. Take your time. and stay single 👍😃
  16. Just had a little look: I get 50GB for 79p and it appears I use 23GB of it at moment. Which I guess in the scheme of things is very little GBs
  17. 79p with Apple. ..just comparing. Mind you, I don’t even know how much ‘space’ it gives me.
  18. I’ve a few bookshelves and plan on making more. One small bookshelf is on a constant change over because I’ll be swapping novels with whoever. The other books shelves are for reference books, mainly art books and a small but growing collection of canal books. But yeah maps! Love them. Getting the maps out and planning a journey is a great pastime. (Journeys never ever go as planned but researching them is good fun)
  19. Have you still got the old iPad? or did they take that off your hands. I bought a new iPad last year after the old one got slow and couldn’t be updated. Was maybe 8 or 9 year old 🤷‍♀️ The new one is great. To add: never had a problem with the syncing of new igadgets. what I do like about the Apple stuff is the security. Never had any trouble or bothersome reminders to update flashing on the screen. I may be out of date with it all but my memory of other stuff is the constant irritating reminders of security or anti virus whatevers popping up on screen.
  20. is there a particular reason the dates of fabrication only go back as far as 1911? There’s still plenty of boats about that were built before 1911. So the year dates of fabrication need to be extended back further. I would think it easy enough to add iron to the list of hull materials, and even add ‘composite’(?),for those boats with wooden bottoms? which then brings in the question of a year of conversion, if indeed the boat has been converted from a working boat to a ‘leisure’ boat. can get a bit complicated. Good luck.
