  1. Could I ask how you managed to get them down to that price? I'm in the last 30 days of a 2 year contract with Three which came with a phone and all you can eat data and is currently £33 month (no tethering). I asked to move on to sim only with all you can eat data and the required amount of minutes which is 600, but when I tried to do a deal they wouldn't offer anything over and above what was available to new customers on their website at a cost of £22 per month. The retention advisor refused to give me a pac code saying I could call back for one when I decided to leave. Am I getting through to the wrong team or am I asking the wrong things?
  2. Great, thanks for the reply
  3. Just out of interest, did your get your mifi's under contract from a network or did you purchase them unlocked? I've got a couple of Three network mifi's and wondered if the EE sim might work in them?
  4. This just got a mention on Radio 2, thanks to the Daily Mail article. Although Sara Cox did refer to the boat as a barge!
  5. Great thanks, we've had a poke around and think we have located said valve - there are 2 that we have turned off (there were 4 in total) and have then tried running the Webasto - the radiators didn't come on and the water appeared to be getting warmer although it's hard to tell for certain as it's still warm from a trip out yesterday (but the OH had a shower and wasn't complaining it was cold for once!). The true test will be tomorrow when we've let the water cool completely and then fire up the Webasto - fingers crossed it works - if it does, it'll be a revelation for us! Only been boating 4 years you always learn something new
  6. Just like the OP, we are trying to come up with a solution to get hot water without running the engine. We are increasing our solar bank (from 200 watts to 695) and have an immersion which we wondered whether we could run using the solar only. We also have Webasto central heating but did not know that it is possible to use it for hot water only. Are all set up's likely to be like this or in some cases would we need to switch off all the radiators to achieve the desired effect? If there is a valve on our Webasto, where would it be located - in/on the engine, near the radiator tank or near the motor that runs the CH? And what does it look like - if anyone has any pictures that would be brilliant. Thanks in advance.
  7. As a person with a dog as a member of our family my heart goes out to you. Ignore those with nothing better to do than hijack threads. We're keeping everything crossed for a safe return.
  8. Yes we did on Monday! Around lunchtime (on our own)
  9. What an awful experience to have gone through. We've done the Caldon and beyond Engineers Lock it's lovely - I throughly recommend a visit to The Hollybush at Denford to settle your nerves We were untied at Newark last weekend, nothing in comparison to what you've been through and I was still awake and so able to act fast and get re-tied quickly but it was a stark reminder of what other people think is a nights amusement vs . damage to property/risk to life! Hope you have a peaceful nights sleep tonight.
  10. Thanks both for the answers - I hadn't thought about EA's reporting being for flooding more in relation to risk to property/life. Love the idea of a 'Boatability' measurement - maybe it's something we could petition CRT to introduce In the meantime we'll use common sense and certainly won't avoid rivers through fear of the flow - just done the tidal Trent from Cromwell to Keadby and enjoyed it!
  11. Hi All, is there any standard method to determine what the river level reading on the EA website translates to on the red/amber/green indicator boards at locks? Yesterday we did Knottingley to Selby and the board at Bank Dole lock was green but at West Haddlesey Flood lock was on amber. Looking at the EA website I can't determine what is the safe level? Any advice/hints/tips appreciated Thanks
  12. Ditto for us on the cooking - gas oven and hob used every day and a 13kg bottle lasts 12 weeks.
  13. Super thanks:)
  14. Also being an electric ignoramus, can you explain what you mean by making the 'high power DC runs much shorter' are you talking about the length of wiring. We're at the point of thinking we need to replace our 12v Waceo fridge as it doesn't last longer than 20 mins before coming on, regardless of how much charge is in the batteries. (Apologies to the OP for going off on a tangent)
