HP Sleekbook laptop- does anyone have one?

It all depends on the operating system of the device, and what you want from it.

In general, most of the cheaper 'books' tend to be fairly emasculated in their ability to 'go' to any address.

Personally I feel that there are only 3 option, depending on what you want to do.

Ipad, if your interested in looking cool and have money to burn. Android for tablet style computers or a full laptop for Windows.

I don't have any knowledge of the Windows tablets, but have been told that they aren't very good.

Hope this helps.

No personal experience of Sleekbook but a computer savvy mate warned me off any tablet using windows & reacomended I buy a cheap android tablet for out and about use and get a proper laptop for 'work'.

I took said advice, and with the right translation software, it was a good call.

6 months ago I'd have agreed, but the latest generation of windows tablets like the Asus T100 are in a different class, being based on Intels latest 'Bay Trail' CPU they give both decent Win8.1 performance and great batt life:

Star.

Noticed no one answered you.

Yes the sleek book is the same as a chrome book. Hasn't had many good reviews but I don't use one myself.

The sleekbook is not the same as a chromebook at all. A Chromebook is a personal computer running Chrome OS as its operating system. The devices are designed to be used while connected to the Internet and support applications that reside on the Web, rather than traditional applications that reside on the machine itself. ... A sleekbook is a laptop running windows 8. HP do make a chromebook, it is a completely different product to the sleekbook.

Stand corrected. My confused mind this morning.

Thanks, I didn't think it was a Chromebook. Alternatives to buy instead are not really relevant- I have won a Sleekbook, so that's what I'm getting! This is causing conflict because I was wanting to get a tablet to play on as my lappy doesn't get on with the boat but I need it for work, but then this Sleekbook thing has made me wonder if it falls between the two and will be good on the boat for both. I will more than likely just sell it without unpacking it and follow my original plan though!
