November is pretty good going -- but IIRC you have a wideboat with more solar panels than most narrowboats can fit?

As we've slid into autumn all my neighbours have started running their generators every day for the last few weeks. I've been working from home on my laptop all day, watching TV in the evenings but still haven't run my generator (or engine) yet and my lithium batteries haven't gone below about 50%, that's how good they are. The small amounts of solar they do get is enough to charge them and replace most of what I'm consuming. I've stopped switching the immersion heater on and use the Webasto for an hour or two in the mornings to heat the boat and get hot water, but I have angled the panels a couple of times when the sun was out to run the washing machine. I'm going to see how late in the year I can go before having to start the generator. I reckon I'll probably get into November.
