Friday 17th, Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th May

The Old Union Canals Society, supported by C&RT, is holding a Rally of Boats and Celebration at Welford Wharf to mark 50 years since the re-opening of the Welford Arm in May 1969.

There will be historic narrowboats, steam traction engines, a pop-up canal history museum, various stalls and exhibits.  The Wharf Inn is kindly providing music.

For more details, contact us via the Forum or email    oucsinformation@gmail.com

If you wish to come by boat, please email    matthew.harris@canalrivertrust.org.uk    to book a mooring space (no charge, but mooring space is limited)

If you are attending the Crick show, this will make a pleasant and free diversion for the previous week.

Just a quick reminder that this event is this weekend.

Incidentally, there's no mooring for visiting boats without a pre-booking on the wharf side of the lock from

lunchtime tomorrow (Thursday 16th).

What a great event.  Some nice boats, fine music, good ale and lovely people.

Top marks to all the organisers, painters, gardeners and helpers - and the other societies involved.

A video here of the speeches on the Saturday afternoon.  Another video of the boats to come.
