Jennifer McM
Don't know if it's necessary, or if it's been mentioned.... We've got an automatic bilge pump under our machine (machine stands on a 4in plinth).

It’ll leak one day, so good to have it sat on a water-tight tank rather than it soaking through the floor into the bilge.

If it helps having been involved in repair and maintenance of washing machines in one of my businesses in the past the majority of washing machine leaks were 1) Split in door rubber- so check often. 2) Over filling due either to faulty filler valves- they have a rubber "plunger" which can over time swell and fail to close when "told to" or as the level is controlled by a "container" which as it fills with water operates a pressure switch which in turn turns the water fill function off. This "container" can block with dried soap especially when the machine is not used often.
