Any tips or advice please? They do come up. There have been at least two come up at Devizes this year on the cart website. Start by looking on cart moorings on their web site. There are other private places and by far the best approach is go in person and speak directly. There's a couple at least available after a quick look on cart site. Clodi
Look on the CRTs Waterside Moorings Here You'll be very lucky to find residential but lots of boats near me on the K & A keep a low profile and get away with it.

Any tips or advice please? The suggestion always used to be 'find a mooring before buying the boat', that is becoming more relevant / necessary in the South as folk are looking for cheap housing, there are more boats than moorings. Clodi
I always thought that if it is one's intention to live aboard full time and not move you would really need a houseboat and that's a specialist market nowadays, The number of boats around London seem to have peaked & my guess is that people really do not understand the rigors of Constant Cruising and finding somewhere to 'Park' . It's a real eye-opener seeing the amount of commuters catching the morning train into 'Town' from Great Bedwyn' every morning.

Well thats always been the way with Great Bedwyn, with it's fast link direct to Paddington. Half the village works in London. There is some sort of historic legal obligation on the railway system to provide the link apparently. Something to do with the Royal family and it being the nearest station to the Marlborough College apparently.
