Pingu
Hi All. We are off next weekend on a short trip from Worcester to Alvechurch so will need somewhere to eat for two nights. Do guy guys have any recommendations? Sam The Queen's Head at the bottom of Tardebigge was excellent a couple of years ago - the last time we visited. Very friendly and as they couldn't do evening meals (something wrong in the kitchen) happily said we could phone for take away and they still provided plates etc for us to eat off and if we had wanted could have used the dining room - but the bar was the best place with plenty of good beer. Have only been in the pub at the top of Tardebigge at lunchtime. Food wasn't too bad - no real ale - but plenty of lagers etc. Good luck finding somewhere. Hairy-Neil
The pub canal side at Tibberton, not sure of the name, has been ok the last 2 trips I've passed that way.

colinjw
Hi Sam, The pub at the top of Tardebigge (Tylers Lock by the Water) is now closed I think but there is a pub which is excellent value for money within 10 mins. walk. If you moor up at the south end of Tardebigge Tunnel, walk up to the road above the tunnel and turn right i.e. east, there is a pub that serves meals on a two for the price of one basis and the portions and prices are good as well. We were disappointed with the Queens Head at the bottom of Tardebigge, took ages for the meal and it wasn't busy. The Bridge Inn at Tibberton is good. Happy boating and eating. KenK
Hi Sam, There are two pubs at Tibberton, the one by the bridge is more of a resturant however just up the road on the left is a pub called Speed the Plough. We went there last summer and it was first rate. Have a good trip. Ken
StephenA
The Crown at Withybed Lane Bridge No 61 isn't that bad (food was good last time I was in there) and there is the pub at Alvechurch marina (The Weighbridge)
