'No chalk' hull survey

I have a full hull survey done EVERY time my boat comes out of the water. Yes, it tells me the steel thickness. But of far more value to me is knowing that a person who looks at boat hulls all day long has cast his eye up and down the whole boat. Experienced professionals see things that others don't.

Mine cost £250. Forget how long it took, around an hour I think, freshish paint on the hull, no scraping (obviously as it's U/S) and no chalk marks.

If you mean "because it is ultrasound you don't need to clean the blacking off", then I don't think that's right without further qualification.

With the equipment many of the surveyors are still using, you almost certainly do.
