So - the boat's (boats' ?) delivery is imminent and I'm about to buy a macerator.

we WERE going to buy a sanimarin but I've recently spotted a vetus 12v macerator for a whole load less money (which we are VERY short of - donations welcome ninja.gif ....)

Does anyone have experience of Vetus loos? good OR bad?

The budget one I have in mind is here:

Have had one for three years, (liveaboards) so plenty of use. Macerator been no problem, seat fittings and fixtures very poor though, had to strip the macerator to remove the broken buffer pads that fell of the seat and went in, found that to be very well made and quite scary. (You certainly wouldn't put your fingers near it when it was working).

On our second Vetus macerator, the first one having lasted 8 years of liveabord use and this one having done 3 so I would give them good marks.

DQ has a Vetus macerator. 9 years of leisure use without problem.

Only issue is the friction hinges on the soft close lid have worn a bit.

Whether its boat's or boats' depends on how many boats you're getting :-)

I suppose I ought to google "use of the possessive apostrophe" then...

AS for the Vetus - I've ordered it today... thanks.
