Solar installers/advice Midlands

Featured Posts

We have decided to get solar panels fitted as we plan to do more cruising now John isn't working.

At the same time we'd like a Smartgauge (or similar) and it's also time for new batteries as ours are dying.

We would rather get someone in to advise on options/capacity etc for solar and other electrical stuff, and do the fitting, than do it ourselves. Does the forum have recommendations for suitable suppliers who serve Birmingham? Looking for value for money and easy to work with rather than the dirt cheapest. Many thanks!

Hi there,

I had panels fitted last year by Tim of NBoard solar http://www.onboardsolar.co.uk/timpages/timsolar.phpand am happy to recommend him. He discussed the options available and the prices are posted on his website and there were no hidden extras except he installed extra cables (in case I wanted to increase the number of panels) at no extra cost, he arrived at my boat when he said he would and was tidy and quick.

We have had great advice and service from Kevin and Adrian at Onboard energy at Springwood haven near Nuneaton. They fitted our solar panels and replaced our batteries amongst other things over the years. Very knowledgeable and friendly and do a first class job.

No connection other than satisfied customer of many years.

One thing to do before you approach anybody is to carry out an energy audit, ie know what kit you have and how much power it uses. Then they can advise you properly.
