newbie taking the plunge! Boat Surveys?

Featured Posts

I bought my boat without having a survey, I'm a bit of a risk taker.

If I bought another one I still wouldn't have a survey done but I would launch a kayak and have a good feel down the sides for pitting and those nasty raised rust bits that leave a pit when you scrape them off. I couldn't check the baseplate this way of course but I could get a hand under the counter, and reckon on this being in similar condition to the base.

Bit reckless maybe, but probably not as reckless as just buying on sight.

Hey! Mort'.

Nice one.

Well? What's the boat like?

Do tell. Then we can all take the pee and scare the hell out of you. (But only in jest).

Anyway. Well done.

She's a 58' Cruiser Stern built by Liverpool Boatbuilders.

I'm scared to say too much about it just in case anything goes wrong!!

Everything about her appears perfect for me and my strange little ways.rolleyes.gif

I was looking for a Trad but as soon as I got on board - I pretty much knew that I was going to have to buy her.

She's been well maintained and I have a copy of the survey that was done a few years ago - plus I have the option to get a survey done in a couple of weeks if I want.

So fingers crossed.
