Setting aside frivolous comments and sifting wheat from chaff there is a wealth of knowledge contained within threads of this forum..ask and you will get a reply...well you will normally get loads of advice from many different perspectives.

Then the difficult easy solution to that which troubles you is revealed.

Ignore replies telling u to google..google does not have the personal, I have bin there done that and know the solution answer.

treat them mean, keep them keen.

I've been busy selling my house and looking at Moorings and Marinas. Engineers Wharf - oh dear. Packet Boat - nice but expensive!

Have Boat viewings tomorrow and next weekend.

All the excitement is causing the sales of Wine and Gin to rocket.

Mortishah,

Just a brief bit of advice then... don't tell any brokerages this bit.

A broker hears the words "I need to sell the house" ten times a day and is likely to jump to the conclusion that no matter how much time s/he spends helping you, you at not in a position to actually buy a boat. Possibly incorrectly.

But this means the less professional amongst them will stop bothering trying to assist you by showing you around their boats. Not what you want. Best just not to mention the selling of houses in the first place...

(Edit to fiddle with wot I rote.)

Cheers for that advice - I am wary about telling brokers anything to be honest. Brokers. And estate agents. And used car sales men.

All of which I'm dealing with at the moment!

Robden, so how quick can you do an oil change? ;-)

No Gin or wine will be consumed in the making of a boat buying decions - can't speak for afterwards though

If you get an engine like mine, you'll NEVER need to do an oil change...

I had an old Norton like that - just kept topping it up every couple of days and had to jet-wash the garage floor just as frequently.

I had a Triumph like that.

I thought that if it's going around on the outside, there should be some going around on the inside.

  • 2 weeks later...

Quite.

Don't kid yourself you'll be choosing which boat to buy. The right boat will choose YOU.

When you eventually view the right boat you'll have no choice in the decision to buy it.

(Which you will have to do of course, regardless of the results of any survey you might commission smile.png )

this happened. Bloody hell.

I've just paid a deposit on the boat that chose me.

* slightly stunned *
