Should the pressure be set, above or below the pump psi?

At the pump cut IN pressure, but half the cut out pressure will not be so far out and do the job.

It's a Johnson pump. Says cut in pressure 19psi. Doesn't state cut out.

I'll try 19 psi then.

On my Stuart turner accuminator tank it says start with zero pressure in system then pump to 7 psi and check every 6 months.

The pressure isn't critical provided it's somewhere in between the pump cut-in and cut-out pressures.

 

The thing that IS critical, is to measure/adjust the pressure with the pump turned OFF and a tap OPEN, so there is no pressure in the pipes whilst doing it.

So as my tank says 7psi I should ignore this as it is intended for a mains 1.5 bar pump and set as you suggest mike.

Some varied replies here... Just to add another one. I was always led to believe the accumulator should be set at or a few psi below the pumps cut-in pressure. So if the cut-in pressure of the pump is 19psi then the accumulator should be set to 15 - 18psi
