Phillipe el guapo
I am planning to use the Anderton Lift bridge next year and explore the River Wear. Got a 57 foot boat and plan to go down to Winsford Bridge then turn and go to Weston Point Docks then back t Anderton Lift Bridge. Any tips? Turning at Weston Docks and Winsford Bridge OK? bottle
Hi Phillipe There was recent thread about the river Weaver, no problems in where you plan to turn. I will try to find the thread and comeback with the link. In fact there are quite few, here's two to start: http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=68931&hl=weaver http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=69358&hl=weaver If you have a search (top right) of the forums, they will appear. RLWP
You'll find you can turn almost anywhere on the Weaver. It's a great big thing, not at all like a canal Richard
Kae
Weaver It's just like boating on a very wide canal, very controlled flow with locks and nice places to moor.
David Mack
And the River Wear is navigable from the sea at Sunderland for 10 miles up to Chester-le-Street. But the Anderton Lift won't help you get there.
