Aylesbury Arm Closed?

The balance beam one one of the gates at Lock 2 is reported damaged and has been removed by C&RT. The Arm is shut till Monday when CRT will staff the lock three times a day until tghe beam can be replaced- possibly by Wednesday 23rd.

Hi

 

Came through Marsworth yesterday heading south and one of the balance beams had an undated notice stating the Aylesbury arm was closed UFN. There was a CaRT work boat above the top lock of the arm completely blocking passage also. HTH.

Update on 24/07/2014:

 

The balance beam at Lock 2 has been replaced. The canal is now fully open for cruising and boats can pass through this lock at any time.
