Water pump Flojet R4405-143 - vertical mounting?

At the moment this sits in the corner, taking up valuable floor space. Any advice on whether I can mount it next to the water tank under the foredeck. Or, any reason why I cant mount it vertically?

It can be mounted vertically but the pump end should be below the motor, not above it.

 

Under the foredeck should be fine too.

As per Blackrose and just to add make sure the pump end is below the tank take off.

Why do you say that? The flojet manual says it can be mounted above the outlet and will self prime. Cannot remember the actual distance though

Just saves it having to suck and only pump, after all it is a pump.

Because it's uninsulated? But then that would be true in any case if there are pipes under there.
