NB Anastasia K&A Newbury

Featured Posts

Your boat is in the pound above Guyers lock just west of Newbury. It is aground but both lines have slack. The lock is out of action due to top gate currently hanging.Your boat is fine but any problems with rudder/skeg when pound refilled leave message on here if tow needed.

Ps:will contact C&RT tomorrow with your details, will check boat again tomorrow.

Hi.

Off topic, Not sure, but was the name of Dan Dare's space ship called "Anastasia"? Digby, The Mekon, ahh, the good old days of the "Eagle". When two flying saucer sherberts cost half a penny. (Old money).

Some boating friends of ours run an old fashioned sweet shop so we usually have an endless supply of our old favourites.

Currently have flying saucers, rhubarb and custards and blackcurrant and liquorice onboard.

Many thanks to everyone that was involved with repairing the lock and protecting AnastasiA from damage. A particular thanks to JDR, who helped my husband recover her to Newbury Marina yesterday evening. As a novice boater it was hugely appreciated!
