Varta's New Battery's

I wonder if these are based on the technology used in stop start batteries? These are designed for the deep discharge and cycling found on stop start cars where the engine cuts each time the car stops and re-starts to drive it away. In city driving this can be pretty stressful on the battery so they tend to be built like the proverbial out house. People that I know who've used them speak highly of them.

We could really do with Gibbo's input, I only deal with Li-ion.

Just been to buy a new starter battery and was introduced to these - Varta - Overview

The latest in battery technology - if money is no object -12v x 260A - £ 380

I cant find how many cycles they are stating for them though.

Alex

Hi can you let me know Where are they available for £380 please. Best I can find is £525. Might consider these after a bit more research (Vinces £25 jobs have finaly given up on me, not complaining as were excelent value for the money)

Many thanks

Look very similar to Victron;

Specification for Victrons:

110Ah Capacity (20 Hour Rate)

Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) 800

Totally Maintenance Free

Cyclic Capacity

200 cycles @ 100% Dod

400 cycles @ 50% Dod

900 cycles @ 30% Dod

Equivalent (almost in capacity and physical size) to Varta LAD 115.

Just used this particular size to give a possible guide to cycles.

This Victron has a RRP price of £224 + Vat but can be got for less than that (£235-20 including VAT)
