Boat Going In Water For First Time

Assuming the engine starts and all is well, the boat will be in water in next couple of hours.

This has been long awaited and am convinced I will forget something daft like putting on the weed hatch.

What will I have forgotten?

If you're going anywhere on a test run the normal mistake is to cast off then realise you've not attached the tiller arm.

Removing the shore line before setting off is usually a good idea...

Shes in the water, she's floating and the engine runs.

If she's not taken on water by the morning I'll assume all is well.

been there done that!! when communicator went in, the the greaser hadn't been fitted frantic minute or two looking for something to plug the hole where the grease tube was meant to be!! thankfully that was the only problem!!

I forgot to open the diesel valve and as I was being launched down a slipway I had the engine running, I had just enough fuel to get to the side before the engine died.

Ha! I do that on a regular basis. I'm really quick at bleeding fuel lines now though.

Well, I managed to remember all those things.

It seems I was so paranoid about everything buggering up that I checked everything 1000 times, despite frantically switching the control cable over on the way down the slipway.
