stewey
AM or PM From the Radio Times site: Landscape with Canals and Machines: The Legacy of LTC Rolt Monday 08 November 11:00am - 11:30am BBC Radio 4 LTC Rolt (1910-74), now recognised as a pioneer of the leisure industry, changed Britain's perception of its land and history through his writing and campaigning. Before his influence struck, Britain's industrial landscape was regarded as a desecration of a rural idyll. But he taught the British to value it, to appreciate its beauty and the achievements of those who created the great engines, viaducts, lighthouses, ships and railways that revolutionised Britain - and the world. Hermione Cockburn, helped by narrowboat-owning actor Timothy West and Rolt's widow, Sonia, tells the story of this remarkable man and examines his legacy. jake_crew
There are lots interesting little programmes on R4 during the day. The "Ghost Trains" were a typically good example. And also "Ramblings" with Balders.
