Purton Hulks Taken Over by BW

There was a news article last night on BBC Points West announcing that BW are now to take ownership of the Purton Hulks Link To BBC Article

 

i did recently start a thread about my visit to Purton Hulks and have followed them with interest ever since Link More Photos Purton Hulks

They will have to find new way to attach them as they are underwater at high tide, knowing BW they will send down divers to attach them at high tide!!

I'm glad they now belong to someone (or some body) to be precise as it now makes the damage being done to them easier to prosecute. I've once intervened as someone tried to take bits of wood for their barbecue...

I understand they have already set up a working party, to carry out a feasibility study, into how best to tow them to Ellesmere Port, for safekeeping, alongside the rest of the "National Heritage Fleet"

But I thought that The Waterways Trust was completly independent of BW?

I thought they were going to tow the heritage fleet to join the Purton Hulks. They will fit right in being in similar condition.
