Smelly
New to the forum but old to the canals be I. I've just spent 2 years land locked saving up to get a new boat after living aboard for 3. I've now got the paperwork and am just about to take the plunge, however with new BW morring/licencing rules I'm worried, so, in fear of starting another mooring debate I fall to ask... Anyone know any moorings around Brum?
Liam
I think the best way to go about finding a mooring, from previous posts is to contact BW and ask for contact number for the moorings officer in your area. See what they can do for you.
nigel carton
Be persistent with BW and if you can, visit moorings and speak to the mooring wardens, you will find that vacant moorings can go un checked.
anthony
Also walk down the canal and ask people. We just got a mooring and this is how we did it.

Whilst standing at the ICC International Convention Center, right in the heart of Birningham, people were often telling me how ''close' the boat dwellings were......five minutes one way...........10-20- minutes the other. I cannot say for sure if there are any available, but it might be a place to start looking BEFORE the developers move in! I think being on the ground would be by far the best way to get more accurate information though. Best of luck! Regards, Uncle Noah

However, that sounds like Sherbourne wharf (V V expensive) and gas St (rather insecure and packed to the 3 year waiting list) I'll give it a bash tho thanks again
