For music to get a decent sound you could run a lead from an output from the laptop into a cheap car hifi system with a mini jack input or the aux input on the back. You could use an mp3 player the same way. Plus when you are cruising you could have a speaker near you for a bit of radio ect without having the laptop and just use the car stereo. Tescos are doing a good deal on a samsumg laptop for £500 which buys you a lot for your money nowdays.

Just a thought and I may be way off here but are you using or have switched on any kind of wireless technology with your laptop?
