I dont disagree with you about how shallow it is outside Willowbridge but wasnt the bendy section just before Pear Tree dredged a few years ago- they put all the dredgings behind the wooden poles/fabric on the offside Bank as seems to be popular now. Seems to be a fair compromise- lose some width which was probably overgrown and not there in the first place and gain some depth. Seem to recall a post on here about that dredging at that spot too.
