Not sure that the winning photo really captures it, but that stretch around Newton Harcourt is one of my favourite anywhere. The canal runs along the side of a shallow valley and you look down towards the river and small, old, isolated church. Great mooring.

It is one of my favourite stretches too,(which is why I didnt think it a very good pic), lovely walk down to the church and the, garden centre has a decent cafe and shop. Also has the corn maze open June-September usually.

The whole valley was full of water when we came up at Easter 2018, the church has it's own island.
