Well you certainly have very lovely topsides Ms Balloon 😂

(I'm sorry Ms B, the scope for innuendo with boats is almost too much- my brain is starting to fry)

They’re bloody infuriating. Try to brake the boat with them and any turn you take with the rope just pops right off the top.

bonus points if you can guess the canal. Or even…WHERE!

The willows ought to help give it away.
And I’m sure I’ve come across them bollards.

Cheshire? Dunno.

Somewhere around Chester?

Well yes, I'm sure I'd have noticed them for this trait had it been a southern canal. They look old/vintage though. And wide locks.

So to narrow it down, so to speak, north of Watford Gap!

Must be the GU then.... somewhere around Tring perhaps?

Ah far better. Well done. The lock with the bollards is in berko but most of the bollards round here are like that. You get points. No bonus points though as you needed too many clues.

Haha yes and I started here this morning. That’s gotta be enough. In fact the lock you’re talking about is the next lock from this shot.

I must say Ms B, its nice to see the boaters there giving each other a half-decent space, and not mooring too close.

Nothing worse than coming out onto the stern deck at 0700 hours- before the hair and make-up team have been- and seeing a boat six inches away from yours.

I thought darn sarf you all moored on top of each other (and that's not innuendo- or not deliberate anyway).

I'm thinking of visiting my daughter in London towards the end of this year, but I've been put off by the thought of it being very crowded with boats, and struggling for a mooring spot.

PS- apologies, I don't speak cockney rhyming slang. I have watched some Sweeny episodes but I can never quite get it right.

Haha I’m not a LONDON BOATER

but I have boated through london and didn’t struggle for a spot.

Just ever so slightly north of the m25 and it’s far more pleasant though.

Yep. Just for me. They roll the red carpet out for me at the locks too. I can’t believe you’ve not heard of me already!

The carpet must get a bit squelchy though, surely?
