Bad connections don't blow fuses, they just get hot. As I said a bad chock block on a water pump got hot enough to melt the plastic and burn my finger. The owner thought it was the pump smelling which of course wasn't working properly.

Same with the pics I posted, a bad connection got very hot but it didn't blow the fuse.

I can see that potentially being an issue if vibration loosened the nut, but other than that it's not the threads that make the electrical connection is it? I thought it was the ring terminal face to whatever is underneath it, in this case another nut.
