Has anyone any experience of the offer of a cheaper holiday from a hire company to relocate one of their fleet to another one of their marinas at short notice and the enticement of a cheap holiday.

Got an email from one with 24hrs notice, but couldn't make the arrangements, just a thought for next year.

Yes, a while ago we met some people doing exactly that, and I think they were delivering a brand new boat.

This is a very good deal for the hire companies, rather than them paying a professional boat mover, the boat mover (you) pays the hire company.

A colleague of mine used to do this regularly.

When I was a regular hirer from ABC I used to get the mails offering the opportunity too. However it was never really possible with a young family to consider.

I can’t see a good reason not to if you have the ability to meet the required timescales.

Yes met a couple 2 days ago moving a boat from union wharf to Alvechurch. They were happy with the boat and the charges for its hire.
