Hi laney, I had 2 panels ( 4 wires ) to join together where the cable entered the boat. Then ran 2 wires to the to my Stecca controller. As far as connectors go I found the easy method was to fit a 'chock block' as used by mains electricians. I filled ours with vasaline & then enclosed it in a diecast aluminium case. Worked for me Mark.

After water has been drained It does give EXTRA protection as it keeps the pump / pipe etc at canal temperature which is above freezing. Mark.

For the last 2 years I have drained everything as best as I could and then wrapped all pumps , calorifier etc with loft insulation, the orange & silver plastic wrapped stuff. Easy &clean to use.Mark.

It's a good idea to literally stick a spirit level on the dish arm once it is working properly. This will give an instant indication the next time the dish is set up as to the vertical 'plane' being correct or not. It's then just a case of swinging the dish in the horizontal plane ..... If you see what I mean . Mark.

Our Nanni had an 'air box silencer' with no filter fitted so I swapped it for a K&N filter. I had to make a 40mm to 60mm adapter using some rubber pipe. Works fine, no noticeable increase in noise. Mark edit to add K&N give 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds

We loosened our cratch cover & tied a go-cart tyre to each front cabin corner - just incase The wifes nagging kept me away from the tunnel sides !!! Mark.

We bought a Draper hand held 12v search light, about £15 from eBay. It worked really well giving extra light to back up our fixed one. Good luck, our SeaOtter stands tall, 6' air draft & the front corners came really close to the tunnel arch in the middle where it is a lot lower. Oh yes wrap up warm it was freezing a couple of weeks ago !

Fitted a K & N to my Nanni 3 cylinder as there was no filter in the airbox. Seems fine.

Mmme perhaps it is not such a 'good bit of kit' as I thought. Brings back memories of my Lambretta days in the 70s when the studs in the crank case use to strip the ally threads. ;0)) Mark.

Thanks Bob & Paul, I know you have to take care with aluminium , it's a different ball game to steel. Just out of interest Is it possible to loosen the prop shaft without disconnecting the gearbox studs ? Mark.
