  1. Like that Peugeot 406 Estate in Scotland, I don't think the ice will support the weight! or is it to be driven in reverse?
  2. Thanks for that - always inquisitive, me.
  3. The present Barge Walk Boatyard, appears to have been Maid Line Cruisers Ltd, at Ferry Yacht Station, Thames Ditton, directly opposite. Seems a strange location for a gas pipe to me. One would have expected a gas main to cross with a bridge - where does it go? North up to Hampton Court Palace or east towards Kingston Bridge, or shouldn't I be asking?
  4. I reckon it's a ventilation shaft for an air raid shelter/tunnel for Hampton Court Palace with the addition of a disk thingy to stop people climbing up and gaining access. ....or even a 'modern' cover for an old escape route for Wolsey. Anybody got/got access to historical maps of the area?

  8. No doubt needing may and varied patches, as usual!!
  9. I DO hope your GF will be telling it like it is (just as you have) to her house insurance company, who will no doubt want to talk to his boat insurance company
  10. If I wasn't in the middle of a refit already, then I'd be seriously interested in the JW boat 'Phylis May' and would try to restore as she was - livery, name etc. but I would not be taking her off the inland waterways as her previous owners did

  12. I don't know where Phylis has got to!

  14. Did a quick search on 'google' for caravan breakers north west and came up with:- clicky -- in which there are four listed, one of which is probably Nationwide Caravan Parts and Breakers Britannia St, Behind the pallet yard on Bell St, OLDHAM, OL1 3QG There may be more but it was only a *quick* look - I do know that there were some on the north Wales coast on the A548 but haven't been that way for 10yrs+.

  16. The northern suggestions were those of the OP and came from the OPs first para. in the opening post, but it transpires that they already have air tickets that land them at Heathrow.
  17. Any chance of a photo, so we can see/understand the problem better, and hopefully come up with a solution?
  18. Yes. We've had to pay more than this as most are 1. Discontinued (and in demand) like the Cadbury range and 2. For ebay purchases, postage costs are an issue and have stopped us buying some that we'd have liked. The following pix are of one that is not in our loft and two that are, for some reason in our PC (probably ebay purchases)
  19. ....and in these temperatures, the OP should, if not already aware, be using propane not butane.
  20. Look out for the two (or is it three) Cadbury ones with a Shroppie location. They come in smallish (for 1000pc) purple boxes. We have others that I can list but need to go up into loft (brrrrr..., so, not today, ...soon.)
  21. Agreed, but the time was correct when I left the PC and wrong when I returned, It has always been correct from time of joining in June. Some glitch, or other, I suppose. I blame Microsoft.
  22. OK Alan. Thanks for that. I'd had only one glass of red but I couldn't fathom out (and still can't) what had happened. I'd left the PC on, and logged in, to the forum. "This post?" above has corrected the problem, but why did it occur? Everything was alright! Perhaps another glass?
  23. Came back to my PC and found posts timed at 21:04 but my PC and clocks state it's 20:04
