  1. Isnt it time this thread was locked now out of respect for Travis and the family of the victim?

  4. Fazeley? Wonder if it was the same lot that broke in to the Rugeley boats?
  5. Sturdy is the word. Im sure I saw a small vertical pole on it a few years back that they used to grab, kick off from the bank and glide across. It seems to be minus this little Mod this year. If you havn't eaten at the little bistro at the caravan park yet give it a go. We had a great and reasonably priced snack there. Edit; typo.
  6. All things within reason I guess, but we came across this very recently. We counted 13 on the outside at one point as well as more inside that we couldn't count. Surely this is unsafe bearing in mind the Stourport/Severn incident some years back.
  7. Hi Dan, just back from the Llangollen ourselves. You should make it to the basin ok, just stick to the middle. There was a working pair just outside the basin as we arrived. The walk to HorseShoe falls is well worth it (2miles) and you pass the motor museum. I can recommend a pint at the Chain Bridge Hotel too. Very close to the falls. The "run down" Hotel is the Bryn Howell. Its claim to fame is Pavaroti stayed there when he played at Llangollen. Apparently they had to move a bedroom wall and increase the bath size to suit his needs LOL. I can recommend the Corn Mill too if you enjoy a good steak.
  8. Theres also the "Quest" channel too
  9. Propex blown air gas heater when away from the mooring? Very similar to a diesel heater but no need to carry an extra fuel.
  10. Hi there, your thoughts about the CDI unit are probably correct. There is growing evidence of these CDI units failing, I myself know of 3 people having to replace them. It seems mainly to affect the silver topped engines. A good quick test is to spray the connector with WD40 and give it a very slight twist, It wont, or shouldnt move much, but you will probably find it will run better at low revs until the WD40 dries away. Edit; typo's
  11. And a one cyclinder diesel "Sole" engine too.
  12. Sea Otter until their recent restructure were trailing their boats for years using a Toyota Landcruiser. We used the service to move our 26ft'er from the Avon to Stone Staffs. http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/ http://www.tonytugboats.com Is very helpful and provides an excellent trailing service. (I have no financial interest with him).
