  7. My excuse is I use them for work I have my eye on a couple of hand made axes just because they are things of beauty, so a knife room seems a perfectly normal thing to me This for example https://www.gransforsbruk.com/en/product/gransfors-scandinavian-forest-axe/ <3
  8. I have one of these http://www.silkyfox.co.uk/natasingle.php Although it is far to lovely a thing to actually use, yes I know how odd that sounds. I also have two gerber pocket knifes, both of which are stupidly sharp and I normally have one in my pocket when boating. None of the above will ever see the inside of my weed hatch, thats what cheap and nasty bread knives are for
  9. I am sure they did this a few years ago with some sort of laser measuring device, so I would imagine they can compare and see if theres been any changes and plan a more long term stoppage
  10. Ask, hand made stoves at a very resonable price Must admit I love my squirrel, I was thinking about replacing my old one with one of the fireweavers but my 11 yr old squirrel threw a fit at the end of last summer and winter was on the way, so another squirrel was aquired. They are superb stoves but with a limited life span
  11. He will supply a coal grate Ask, he will work to your specifications
  12. Thank you Richard, just to add he will make one to your specifications
  13. Are you on facebook? If so search for the fireweaver, handmade welded steel and they appear to be highly recommended and a decent price. I have no personal experience of the stoves but have spoken to plenty who have and all give good reviews

  15. All of your points I largly agree with, apart from the suitability of domestic waste to landfill as a solution to dispose of human waste. All of the above also assumes that users of compost bogs do actually compost because I guarantee a fair few dont, in which case its dumping raw sewage into domestic waste bins. They are a great idea if you have the ability to properly compost the waste and dispose of it and personally I don't think that disposal should be in any other than private gardens either your own or with agreement of the owner.
  16. It is a truly lovely place to spend an afternoon or two
  17. Well yeah but as long as its properly composted you shouldn't know the difference
  18. But its not fully biodegradable if its enclosed in a plastic bag and it is still filling up landfill, it should eithet be composted properly and used as organic matter on someones private garden or put into the normal sewage system, not in landfill Properly composted human effluent shouldn't cause any issues as long as the system is monitored. Muck is muck, ideally it should be put through a digestor first to fuel a CHP plant but thats just me being an idealist
  19. Because spreading muck following approved methods is completly different from double bagging human waste and throwing it in a bin to be dumped in a mixed use landfill
  20. Although I agree with your issue about fresh drinking water in principle, you still miss my point about landfill, we shouldn't be encouraging anyone putting any more waste in any sort of landfill. Especially something that should be recycled via proper composting or digestor units Plus of course current advice is to double bag and seal the poo in plastic bags before dumping in the bin
  21. You miss my point by a mile, filling holes in the ground with any sort of waste shouldn't be something to encourage, it doesn't matter that it will eventually degrade, holes in the ground are finite
  22. To a degree I agree with you, considered disposal of properly composted waste in your own garden is a fine achievement. Throwing anything into a landfill is a backward step, apart from possibly Blackburn Lancashire, holes in the ground are a finite resource
