  5. My experience of them is that they're blinkin' lovely. Well worth going ... Perhaps we should organise an away country banter?

  10. According to my students at school it's also a very convenient drug for money exchange mechanism. I have no idea if that's true, or whether it's an urban myth. You need to look to see if there is a trainer hanging over the fence or nearby telephone wire. The brand tells you which gang supplies. I heard the information at to different schools in Cov and one in Rugby, so a well-distributed myth ...
  11. I'm going to step in here and say that this is a thread that originally sought to commemorate a young woman who has been killed doing her duty as an MP. She has left a very young family and husband, who are bereft without her. The consensus across the political spectrum is that Jo Cox was a committed humanitarian who had the respect all of MPs across all political parties in the House. Using this thread to speculate and attempt to denigrate her work and causes does not sit well or reflect well on any of us. If you wish to contribute, be respectful, please, not use the thread to squabble with others. Thank you.
  12. I know, hadn't realised he was a boater either!

  16. It depends where you're being put in too in my experience. I watched a boat going in at Oundle and they clearly knew what they were doing whereas one that went in at Northampton was a bit of a nervy experience. It didn't help that it was a chunky widebeam though. I suspect you'll be fine with a narrowboat. I packed with a friend to go to France and that was basically a house move packing job, wrapped and sealed in removal boxes. Cupboards were taped shut and anything that was loose was tied up. The haulage team inspected the inside to make sure the load was stable. I can't remember, but I have a feeling they were told to reduce fluid levels to minimal. That was to go to France though.

  20. Hotfooting it to Windmill End ...
  21. We're Mainlining in glorious sunshine. Up and off at 4.07 this morning. Now going into Netherton Tunnel.
  22. Eleven of us once drank two and a half barrels of Bumblehole at a Christmas Party at the Bondage Whorehouse. Then we started out n the Batham's. Fine times, I think my liver is still in Purgatory though. My daughter is very fond of Entire, the beer with balls, as she calls it, but then she's a headbanger ... See you there tomorrow, or have you taken up residence for ever? Team Red Wharf were heading towards the Vine. They're unlikely to leave early too!
  23. Flat out to Birchills ... Weedhatch visits 5 ... Wooden aquaplane issue resolved by judicious use of keb. Terrific work, Teams Leggit and Cat. Have a lovely time at the Pie Factory.
  24. Tawny hurtling up Rushall, only the one trip down the 'hatch ... Where Smudge found Tree Monkey's evening hoodie ...
