  2. All sorted thanks - it was one of the batteries being duff rather than anything else. I'm off to exchange it on Friday...
  3. Hi Tony I think the biggest problem about London moorings is the actual availability rather than the costs? That will up the price considerably Not that that's any help to finding prices out!
  4. Ah I have tried the lights while the battery charger is on and it's not made any difference. I've had them on charge over night and I'm now trying the "boost" option for a while to see if that makes any difference. I can feel a call to someone coming along... Best the kettle is on
  5. Last night my lights decided they didn't really want to work - the bulbs were glowing dull and in some cases not working at all. I've got brand new batteries and charger, which is on a timer, so I've put that on for the last hour or so to see if they needed some extra juice. When I first switched it on it the needle didn't even move so from that I'd guess they are fairly ok. How long do you reckon they need to be on charge, if that is the issue, to see any difference? Or any other ideas on what to check? S
  6. I'll be there! And I'm sure Alex, CS Marc and Ally will be too I have the norty step - no idea why it lives with me and a dancing pirate... Finally, I get to go to an actual banter rather than the warm up sessions. Although I'll need to practise poi between now and then if Friday night's attempts are anything to go by.
  7. She's looking fantastic! The only downside is I now want to paint mine.

    Brave me!

I'm impressed Bon but does that mean you're not around for a brew this week??
  9. There's this place too: http://www.nabru.co.uk/?source=affwin I've not yet bought one but they appeal as you can still get storage under the seats.

  11. I've not been at Langley Mill for over a year now but I don't remember seeing the guy/boat re the harmoniums. I have the phone number if there if you want it PM me and I'll email it back to you. If you do go there say hi to them all from me
  12. I'm sending Alex and CS on my behalf tomorrow but I'll join you tonight for a 2nd warm up session
  13. Ah probably! To be fair I only ever drive when I'm up there as it's normally a day trip to one of our offices so I don't have a need for buses. But useful just in case I ever break down in the area
  14. I'd recommend not having the backs of the fixed seating completely vertical. It's a pain sitting on them for any length of time when they are. Not sure what the perfect angle would be but I'm someone would know!
  15. I drove passed it yesterday and I thought there were quite a few nice looking boats in there. I've been travelling back and forth from Southport since the beginning of the year watching it being finished and now filling up. I think it would make a nice place to be moored although I have no idea about the facilities or friendliness Not sure if there's a bus into Southport (can't remember ever following one in) that runs along that main road but I guess there must be.
  16. The last time I lived on dry land that was the lock almost at the end of my garden! I wouldn't exactly call it bustling in the early evenings down there!
  17. Standing by Apsley Marina a couple of years ago two American tourists commented on how lovely the canal was. They then went on to ask how long it had been there and whether it had been built because of the new flats!
  18. There's a much nicer pub in the village just over Peartree Bridge. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the village nor the pub!

  21. I think we missed quite a lot of rain here that came down in Notts on Wednesday day time and overnight in Chesterfield so I think you'll be ok. Blue(ish) skies here this morning and I've just checked outside and the water levels are normal (if not low where I'm moored). That's two of us saying Barrow is normal

  23. Hi Casper I think my Ruston is the same as yours! Well it at least looks very similar from the picture. Not that I'm any help at all when it comes to fixing it but I just wanted to say "snap"... S

  25. Maybe the norty step should live on the roof of my boat Thankfully kind people made the picture not show the piles of stuff that normally live on the shelf behind norty step's current home...
