  1. Thats definately true.. ebays a perfect example...millions upon millions of excellent trades per day yet the only ones you hear about are the odd one that goes wrong!!
  2. My missus just wished Id installed under seat heating in there as well...warm her arse up in the morning!!
  3. Its a wetroom setup built on ceramic tiles with the shower sunk an inch or so below the bathroom floor with the heating from the stove being dissipaited thro the floor..Obviously the shower part aint heated!!
  4. I have underfloor heating in my bathroom driven off my bubble stove using a central heating pump that also feeds 3 rads and my hot water..Lovely n toasty under foot, do have a small rad in there too!!
  5. Thanks Richard...thats my next job sorted ....so nearly there now.. altho Im thinking of fitting a reflex diesel fire or boatmans stove in my bedroom ready for next winter so its fully toasty!!
  6. yes not adjusted any screws..thats mearly thro a proper decoke! Im just trying (unsuccessfully) to find the TOBY valve manual on the interweb to look into sorting it 100%
  7. Well after a dirty mornings work stripping and cleaning / decoking the fire bowl and vaccuuming the chimney/flue I've gone from this ..... Burning cool and sooty plus billowing smoke everywhere To this..... Burns clean and hot as hell...like a furnace now and not a whisp of smoke inside... A job now firmly entered in the annual 'To Do' diary.... & long before minus degree weather next year !! Thanks for all your help and advice folks...Quality Job done!
  8. The point I'm making is the people complaining about the remarks over the last few day had no complains about similar remarks over the last few years when he was alive.. Maybe it's those folks who should 'sit down n think'
  9. Can't understand the difference making a joke about a mans product when he's alive or when he's died tbh... Perhaps the sanctimonious posters being offended on someone else's behalf would care to explain? Didn't notice much complaining from these folks when the poor chap was alive and producing his boats and subsequently having his good name besmirched... Tad hypocritical I think!
  10. Given it a good vaccuum out flue n fire all clean but still smoking out the back flappy damper thing... Any ideas it's getting cold now! Brrr!
  11. Ill have to investigat/give the flue a good clean at weekend.. Has an old dutch on my last liveaboard and it was fantastic, this Bubble is good when working, suppose a good cleanout is the order of the day, its never burnt with a blue flame always orange
  12. checked chimney all ok...what causes smoke to come out of the rear damper/ flap? whats this movable plate over what looks like a rear outlet for? glass on door was all black sooted over too this morning
  13. Woke up this morning to alarms and a boat full of smoke from the rear of my bubble stove? was fine last night, went bed leaving it on no2 for central heating woke at 11.00 to smoke billowing from the rear damper opening? Whats this for and any ideas on the reason for this happening?

  15. Here's one.. I went from a 55x11 v&g liveaboard to a 57ft trad.Hated the struggle of cruising the wb singlehanded and hankered after a trad with engine room... Certainly Miss the extra space tho!! :-)

  21. My Bubble stove has a diesel airlock / non delivery problem...I have diesel to my remote cutout (about 2 ft and 6 inch below fire) so feel I need to create a syphon effect to get diesel to the fire. I was thinking of disconnecting the pipe at the fire pan inlet and connecting some clear tube and sucking fuel thro, with the control valve fully open..... Is this the best way / Any better suggestions or ideas? cheers

Im currently doing a similar trip from Mercia to Rufford single handed..been some tough days along the way :-) Currently moored at Middlewich top lock having a couple of fender mount rings welded on at Top Lock chandelry before setting off tomorrow lunchtime for the final leg this weekend... Ill be mooring outside 'The Old Broken Cross' nr Bridge 172 tomorrow night for a beer/feed if your local and fancy comparing notes
